spanish and chinese live in the same place

clearly, i woke up some part of my brain with this intensive language study. we shared a van from la fortuna a san jose with three chinese people from los angeles. suddenly, i cracked a joke in chinese. from where did that come? as i said more in chinese, i remembered more and more. now, it´s not like my chinese pronounciation is any good, and i can basically ask for things and converse with a 2ýearóld but it was fun for me nonetheless. not bad for a da bizi (a big nose as some chinese call the americans).

david vincenti asked me about the affect the spanish has on my writing. well, this one construction in spanish kept going through my head but with english words and that became part of something i wrote but that happened before i came to costa rica.

me faltaron los canciones de los gallos. tambien me faltaron los canciones de mis amigos, los perros, que me siguieron por las calles de la fortuna.

this weekend, i am on to new york to visit some friends from the ol´d florida days and also some of my best friends from high school. i am a fortunate person to have met so many excellent people.

more when i recover my mind…and a more familiar keyboard.

lots of love,
dba
