Lynne Knight The Hour of the Wolf

The dog lies by your side & waits.
The horses whinny for their hay.
That book you’re reading, cry the Fates.
I hope it eases your dismay.
You hear them everywhere you go.
You hear them as a kind of wind.

So many things you’ll never know—
the hidden reasons why you sinned,
the risks you take with your poor soul.
But here you are. You have to choose:
one path will lead to feeling whole.
There’s little left you have to lose
if you consider all that’s gone.

If you consider all that’s gone,
there’s little left you have to lose.
One path will lead to feeling whole,
but here you are: you have to choose
the risks you take with your poor soul.

The hidden reasons why you sinned,
so many things you’ll never know—
you hear them as a kind of wind,
you hear them everywhere you go.
I hope it eases your dismay,
that book you’re reading, cry the Fates.
The horses whinny for their hay.
The dog lies by your side & waits.
